Staff Changes Take Hold at Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services
A series of staff changes are happening at the Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services. Karis Gutter, senior advisor to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, has been named acting deputy undersecretary for FFAS. The position was formerly held by Michael Scuse, who took over the undersecretary position after Jim Miller left last month to work with Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad. The readjustment comes days after Farm Service Agency Administrator Jonathan Coppess handed in his resignation to head back to The Hill to work as chief counsel of the U.S. Senate Agricultural Committee.
